I know that hydroquinone helps, but it's pretty expensive. Any other remedies?
i would suggest using palmers ' eventone' brand.. it is very safe, contains sunscreen to prevent discolouration from reoccuring and the results are good. any product containing hydroquinone is dangerous.. it can effectively kill plenty of the melanin cells this makes ur skin more prone to UV radiation..this is why you shouldnt use any lightening cream that doesnt have sunscreen.. Ever since I got pregnant I have noticed two dark spots on my upper lip. My baby is 5 months old and the spots are not fading. Anything I can do at home to get rid of them? I' tried several store bought creams that did nothing. I stayed out of the sun and use sunscreen but it still wont fade

it looks like i have a moustache but i dont the skin is just darker. ive tried products w/ hydroquinine for about 3 months each but it doesn't help. i really want to get rid of it as soon as possible. any suggestions?
btw, im not talkin about my actual lip, im fine w/ that. its the area above my upper lip.
well I'm not sure why you would want to, my upper lip is darker than my lower lip but that's just what makes me me. You can conceal the extra darkness thought with lipstick. Apply lipstick, blott, apply powder, then apply lipstick again. Or you can put a concealer on your upper lip before you put on lipstick  (+ info)

My skin is so sensitive and of dry nature. I've used aelovera, potato and some of the creams directed by doctors. But they all reacted to my skin and the patches gone more darker.
These are home remedies may be they will help


1 : Oatmeal Exfoliater
Exfoliating the skin with equal parts brown sugar, milk and oatmeal is useful in ridding the skin of dead cells and can lighten spots with pigmentation caused by the sun.

2 : White Vinegar
Clean the face with white vinegar diluted in water, rinse, and then let the skin dry naturally. The acetic acid in vinegar helps to reduce the dark coloring.


3 : Fruit and Vegetable Juice
Lemon juice and tomato juice are both home remedies for hyperpigmentation. They are so acidic that they dissolve the upper layers of the skin and remove the tan spots.

4 : Almonds
Almonds are one of the best cures for tan spots. Soak the almonds overnight and grind them into a paste by adding milk. Apply the paste to the dark spots.

5 : Sunscreen

I have the same problem, I went to a dermatologist. A doctor can give you the right type of medication that works. B/c I tried many things on my own that did not work, and I wasted a lot of money on these home remedies. You can try ProActiv toners and bleaching cream. I dont want to go as far as getting a tca peel cuz my hyperpigmetation is only from injuries and pimples. I've been using the 0.05% and 0.1% versions of tretinoin for a month, and everytime i peel my skin just recovers back to the way it was and i see no changes in my condition. exactly how should i treat it?
Unfortunately, the tretinoin will have no effect on your post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. In fact, neither will any of the quinolone products. Those products all work on the hyperpigmentation of melasma, but not that caused by previous injury. Conceivably, PDL laser treatment might help you. Talk to your local dermatologic laser surgeon to see if he feels he can help u.  (+ info)
