Can Acid reflux cause hoarseness and throat irritation?

Yes it can! It can lead to a bunch of bodily problems, none of which enhance your quality of life!!

I have suffered with Acid Reflux since 1993 and have just recently found the natural cure!

I use Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar, 1 Tablespoon, in 8 oz. of water, twice a day. By the 2nd day, my acid reflux problem was gone! And it has not returned!

My quality of life has dramatically improved!!  (+ info)

i feel hoarseness and i have i sore throat what is this?

hi i was just wondering if anyone could help me?
i just started a new job about 4 months ago and every time im there i get a sore throat this is making me worried i have also been suffering from hoarseness from the same time im only 24 could you please help.
the sore throat is only at work and there is alot of dust i work with clothes but the hoarseness is there most of the time
----------

I would suggest that something in your work environment is causing an upper respiratory tract infection. Is there dust or noxious fumes present? Do other workers suffer the same effects? Is your employer aware of your concerns? Does the symptoms disappear when you are not at work? Visit a doctor and get his advice.  (+ info)

Throat hoarseness but no sore throat?

Today my voice has been hoarse, but my throat isnt at all sore. Is this allergies or what? Is it normal?

Possibly hay fever due to pollen flying around, Have you eyes been itchy or have you had a runny nose?
Could be a start of a cold!
If in doubt check with your doctor. Better to be safe than sorry.  (+ info)

Talk to your doctor and get a proper diagnosis before trying any treatment .

There are medical treatments that are available for various voice disorders. Some of the common ones are listed here with explanations. Some of these disorders will also have surgical options.

Vocal overdoers -People who like to talk and typically suffer from swellings on the vocal folds, also commonly called vocal nodules or vocal polyps.

Vocal underdoers - People who don’t talk much and typically suffer from thinning or atrophy of the vocal folds, also commonly called bowing or presbyphonia. A partial recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis can do the same thing.

Dystonia - Spasmodic dysphonia belongs to a family of neurologic disorders called dystonias. Spasmodic dysphonia may sound like a choking off or a whispery voice. Also called SD or ADductor SD or ABductor SD. It is often associated with vocal tremor.

Vocal Hyperfunction - This term covers several different types of disorders and includes muscle tension dysphonia (MTD).

Muscle tension dysphonia -This term is often used interchangeably with Hyperfunction.

Reflux- Hoarseness caused by stomach acid reaching the voice box. Also called Esophageal reflux or GERD.

Lump in the throat- The sensation of a lump in the throat. Also called globus or globus hystericus or cricopharyngeal spasm.

Laryngospasm-The 30 seconds of cutting off of breathing where you feel like you are going to die. Breathing in sounds ghastly, but somehow you start getting air again.

P.S .There is a seemingly pervasive belief that all or nearly all voice disorders are caused by reflux.  (+ info)
