Has anyone had successsful treatment for a strawberry hemangioma on their baby?

I have a 2 month old that has developed a strawberry on her cheek. It is about an 1/8 of an inch right now. I have done a lot of research on this and the thought of the possibility of how large it can get terrifies me. I am curious if anyone has had their child treated for this, and what treatment is the most successful. How old were they when you had this done?
----------

My 8 month old baby boy has a little one on the top of his right hand. It has stayed about the same size in shape (since 2 weeks old), but is slowly getting less red. My pediatrician said that most hemangiomas fall off when baby is about one year old. I'm waiting to find out now. Good luck with your LO!  (+ info)

did you ever absent mindedly be scratching an itch and then all of a sudden nick a capillary or something?

And you won't notice, until you feel all the warm blood on your finger tips?
----------

Goodness, you must be scratching awful hard. Just apply pressure to stop the bleeding & next time be a little more gentle.  (+ info)

Is an hemangioma the same thing as an aneurysm?

Had an MRI of the spine and it shows a hemangioma at the T8 vertebral.
----------

No Hemangioma and Aneurysm are different:

Hemangioma: A birth irregularity where a localized tissue mass grows rich in small blood vessels. Capillary hemangiomas are composed nearly entirely of tiny capillary vessels. Cavernous hemangiomas are composed of blood- filled "lakes" and channels.

An hemangioma may be visible through the skin as a birthmark, known colloquially as a "strawberry mark." Most hemangiomas that occur at birth disappear after a few months or years.

Aneurysm: A localized widening (dilatation) of an artery, vein, or the heart. At the area of an aneurysm, there is typically a bulge and the wall is weakened and may rupture. The word "aneurysm" comes from the Greek "aneurysma" meaning "a widening."  (+ info)

Is there any way to clear, heal, or remove a bursted capillary on the face?

For some unknown reason, one day I looked in the mirror and found a red blotch on my face. I thought it was a acne and would clear in a few days. It has been 7 months and it didnt go away. I study it closely and it appears to be a bursted capillary on my face and possible a minor infection because it has a very very tiny buldge point. I had a lazer zap and because it was hot for those few days, I think it got infected again. And recently I just removed the top layer of skin to clean the infection with alcohol. But I am afraid that it would not go away. I am getting married in a few months and am very nervous that it will not clear. I know that it is best to see a dermatologist, but I just started a new job and it is hard for me to take time off. Any doctors or dermatologist that can shed some light in my fear? Will greatly appreciate it. Thank you!
