Part of the tip of my finger went numb, hand/arm gets tingly, should I be concerned?

It might just be because I drive alot, and my hands/fingers are constantly on the hard steering wheel, but I don't know, part of the finger is just numb now, and sometimes the hand tingles and soetimes the arm a bit too, the left hand/arm.

Should I be concerned or did I pinch a nerve or something?

Numbness usually has to do with nerves, and heat/hot flashes/cold, etc has to do with blood right?
----------

Yea, it could be from driving but you should go get it checked out just to be safe. There is a such thing as a mild heart attack. Take an asprin next time it happens.  (+ info)

A dementia woman has swollen hand, arm and lump near breast?

The lump near her breast is filled with fluid as well as her hand, and arm. Since she is on Hospice she won't get any tests done.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?
----------

If it is just swollen all the way down it is probably lymphedema. They dont do much for that either but maybe keep it elevated on a pillow.  (+ info)

What causes tingling in right arm from vibration?

When I am on my riding lawnmower I get a tingling or numbness in my right arm, what is causing this. The lawnmower has levers instead of a steering wheel, so arms are higher than normal , but the feeling is only in right arm
----------

Abnormal nerve sensations such as pins-and-needles, tingling, burning, prickling or similar feelings are all known as "paresthesias". They usually result from nerve damage due to pressure, entrapment, or nerve diseases. Continued nerve damage can lead to arm numbness and permanent loss of feeling. Any abnormal sensation needs medical investigation. The symptoms you describe are consistent with a pinched nerve. This may also be indicative of a weakness or an area that has damage in the spine. Spinal mobilisation can be particularly beneficial when paresthesia is present in the upper or lower extremities. Spinal adjustments should only be carried out by an appropriately qualified chiropractor, or professional specifically skilled to do so. After a few days of no hard work and rest, if there is still no improvement I would make an appointment to see your Chiropractor or other practitioner. If the pain worsens I would suggest that a full history and physical examination is done, including an orthopedic, neurologic exam and any advanced imaging that may be necessary.  (+ info)

Can hand grippers cause Carpal tunnel syndrome or provoke wrist injuries?

I've been using hand grippers for a few months, until today I staggered upon an article saying they can cause carpal tunnel or other wrist injuries. Is this true? If so how long would it take? I also noticed that the veins on my forearms are very noticeable now, which the article said is due to poor blood circulation cause by the gripper. If I stop now would it go away?
----------

sorry I can not help you directly with this one man.

I must admit that I never had CTS but I did a bit of research on the topic and found 2 resources that deal only with carpal tunnel syndrome

here they are:

http://needaguide.net/product_info.php/cPath/23/products_id/37
http://www.theinfopills.com/cts/

It won;t hurt if u checked them out, maybe you will find your answer there but I recommend that you check with a doctor beforehand because CTS can have various causes, like

- Injuries, including prior wrist fractures
- Medical disorders that result in constricted blood vessels, like Raynaud‘s disease
- Medical conditions that result in fluid retention or inflammation, including diabetes,
rheumatoid arthritis, Lyme disease and hypothyroidism

Hope it helps  (+ info)

How come when i smoke it feels like my right hand/arm is "going to sleep"? (I NEED HELP)

everytime i smoke my right hand feels very tingly like it is going to sleep... i heard that smoking cut the circulation off from your limbs?? why is this happening?????
pressure from what!? the smoke?
----------

Smoking (rather the causes vasoconstriction. What you are experiencing is either a coronary and/or pheripherial vascular reaction to smoking. You need testing to determine what is happening.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/3948369

You need to let your doctor know about this reaction. It could indicate some artherlosclorosis depending on your age and health status.

If you search "smoking vasoconstriction" you will see many articles concerning this. Please let your doctor know what is happening to you!
And in the meanwhile, do your best to cut back!

Edit:
Sorry if you don't like the answer, but I am VERY SERIOUS about this! If you experience this every time you smoke, it may be the only warning sign that you have that you have a heart or venous issue.
Here is a link to help you understand. There is literally a whole list of things you can have:

Buerger’s disease instantly came to mind when I read this, but there are many, many possibilities!  (+ info)

Numbness in right hand/arm--what could be the cause?

I was just sitting in a car, when suddenly my right thumb became numb (it wasn't pins and needles, it felt more like how your mouth is numb after going to the dentist) it spread to my fingers one by one till my pinkie was numb, then my whole hand and up my right arm. Then it went away in the order the numbness started.
Does anyone know what this numbness could have been caused by?
----------

You must have damaged yourself without knowing it at sometime. The nerves from the arm and fingers come from the cervical spine and when injured the three small finger and back of the arm and shoulder become numb and at time painful, this is a sign of a damaged nerve, pinched, compressed, collapsed etc.
A doctor will take MRI"s of this area of the spine and se what's going on in there.  (+ info)
