Can a dental infection cause fainting, headache, low grade fever, eye pressure, neck pain and ears ringing?

I have a broken molar, farthest back on left side. I fainted ar work Weds last week, and again Thanksgiving day, ,and again this afternoon. While flossing Weds night experienced blinding pain at the sight of that tooth. I have just been feeling fatigued along with the symptoms mentioned in my question. At what point would a dentist consider this an emergency and remove the tooth.
My boss won't let me come back to work until I have a resolution I am trying to determine if I should go to my dentist or another doctor. I have no insurance and limited resources and need a quick resolution. I am trying to minimize expense by not seeing multiple practioners.

Please only respond if you have first hand experience or medical background.

You need to see a dentist as soon as possible. you likely have an infection...which can spread and cause systemic illness and symptoms. Iyou do not have a regular dentist, get a referral from family or friend, call and tell them you are in severe pain and may have an infection. Tell them you do not have insurance and ask if you can work out a payment plan. E.R. would be much more expensive and they would refer you to a dentist. Wish you the best.  (+ info)

HIV/AIDS Infection when pricked by dental sharp instrument?

I started shadowing at a dentist. When collecting used instruments, I accidentally got pricked by a sharp instrument. I was wearing gloves. The patient was a gay, white male who had bled during the procedure. I read many articles that HIV/AIDS is common among this specific community. His partner had passed away recently for reasons that I'm not sure of. What are the chances that I may contract HIV from this patient?

Putting dental crown today after root canal but i still have infection?

ok so i am putting my crown on one of my front upper tooth but i had a major infection after my root canal was done and it still hurts its been over a month now and it hurts a little but i am scared not to go get a crown put in becasue i dont want to feel n e pain after the anesthesia wears down. can any one give me any advice it it will hurt or not..

remember that i still have infection due to the root canal and i have preformed two root canals in the same front upper thooth but will go for my crown today and i can still feel the small bump in my front upper gum were the infection developed in the outside.. will it still hurt ?
----------

I've only had one root canal done, but as far as I know you definately should not close that up before the infection is gone. This is why when you first have the root canal drilled, the dentist does not put a filling in right away. The first visit is to clean it out, then they give you antibiotics, and then you go back f/ the filling. If I was you I wouldn't get the crown until the infection is gone, and I would think any good dentist would tell you that.  (+ info)

Dental question..I was wondering if an infection after dental surgery can cause severe facial swelling?

My partner has severe pain in his tooth and on one side of his face. He had a root canal about a month ago and went to his regular dentist with the problem 2 days ago. They did an x-ray and nothing showed up. She re-did a filling & sent him home with some Keflex antibitotic and Viacaden. After he came back Tuesday afternoon his whole left side of his face had swollen where the work was done. He had a fever and severe pain, & also trouble and pain urinating. When our regular doctor was in yesterday, I took him in there he examined him and said he had a bacterial infection & gave him Biaxin (generic) and drew his blood. The blood test came back normal today but his face is still swollen and in pain on the one side and it doesn't look like it has gone down at all despite the antibiotics. A family member who was married to a dentist said the infection could spread to his brain or he might be having kidney failure with the urinating pain issue which panicked me. What can we do now for him?
----------

you really need to communicate with this dentist. sometimes things don't show up right away but regardless someone needs to get to the bottom of this swelling pronto and the dentist will know where to start  (+ info)

What are some signs of infection after wisdom tooth removal?

Well I had a wisdom tooth taken out 5 days ago. The pain got worse for the next 3 days and then gradually decreased and today it's not bad at all. I have no swelling whatsoever. However, I had some chills and fever last night. I wonder if it's a tooth infection or some other infection. When I get chills and fever like that it means I have some kinda infection. Am I supposed to have more dental symptoms if i had a tooth infection?
----------

A really bad taste in your mouth would be an indication. Listerine might help some.  (+ info)
