If you have dental problems is it possible to cause a yeast infection in a woman?

I've never heard of dental problems causing a yeast infection. If you're taking anti-biotics for the dental issues, anti-biotics can cause a yeast infection in some women. Ask your doctor if you're unsure.  (+ info)

If a dental infection has spread to other parts of face how would you go about finding the location ?

Would you ask a Doctor or a Dentist ? What type of Xrays would be used ?
----------

if a dental infection has spread across your facial tissue planes already, get to the dentist as soon as possible. a physician will take one look, prescribe some antibiotics, and tell you to go to the dentist. the dentist is going to be the one to open the infected tooth up to allow the infection to drain or pull the tooth and allow it to drain through the socket. a physician doesn't have any training in this, and as such will pass you off to the dentist. go now, before it spreads to your brain or to your neck, it happens fast (within 24-48 hours usually).  (+ info)

Dental infection, Ear puss sores, chronic neck pain & and heart disease?

I have had 2 teeth inside my gum which flares with vicious infections from time to time over the years. Now lately I keep getting ear infections with puss and blood and chronic neck pain. What do you think it is and what should I do?
----------

Have those teeth removed and go see a nose, ear and eye doctor to make sure that it's not an infection stemming from the infection from your teeth. Good Luck.  (+ info)

Can a dental X-ray tell if tooth infection has spread to other parts?

For the most part it will be able to tell. Sometimes it can't due to being a 2 dimensional image. Go by symptoms, pressure, sensitivity to hot and cold, throb, a pimple on the gum are all symptoms of a tooth infection.  (+ info)

When is dental infection serious ?

How long should I cope with a dental infection before it could be described as long term and serious ? If I am being treated with antibiotics am I safe ?
----------

If you continously take the antibiotics they will become ineffective at fighting infection because your body will become immune. Any kind of infection is serious and needs to be treated as such. If it's a tooth problem, get it removed or get a root canal. It it's a gum issue, get the deep scaling and root planning (deep cleaning) done. I know it's expensive, but it has to happen if you want to get back to good oral health. Oral infections (perio) have been known to contibute and complicate issues like heart health, diabetes, kidney disease and so much more... so take care of yourself.  (+ info)

are there any contraindications to getting a dental cleaning when you have a staph infection?

You most likely are on an antibiotic for it right??? Wait a day or two to let that work. Having a dental cleaning puts pathogens into the blood stream. I would feel better if basically you were premedicated with antibiotics during the procedure.....just in case.  (+ info)

Is it the dentist's fault if you get dental implant infection and doesnt go away after several months?

I wish I knew how long the implant was in before the infection surfaced? Usually, when an implant “fails” or gets infected, it is within the first few months. There are several factors to consider. Was there an infected tooth extracted immediately prior to placing the implant? Are you a smoker? Did you have a history of periodontal disease? Are you on medication for osteoporosis? Did you “load” or put a lot of pressure on it too early (prior to 3 months)? First have your dentist check it out. If he can, he may place more bone graft around any loose places in the bone around the implant. If that does not work out, then I would get a 2nd opinion. Hope this helps!  (+ info)
