Can the right fallopian tube grab the egg from the left ovary?

I lost my left tube due to an ectopic pregnancy. Could the right fallopian tube grab the left egg?
My OB/GYN said it's possible. I found some info on the web to support this, but it's pretty vague.
----------

YES - I got pregnant from my left fallopian tube grabbing the egg from my right ovary. I do not have a right fallopian tube and had a very eary ultrasound at 4 weeks which showed the cycst on my right ovary indicative of the egg coming from that side. It does happen - by baby is proof.  (+ info)

Conception takes place in the fallopian tube, but how long before the fertilized egg reaches the womb?

Does anyone know? I am curious to know how long it takes for the fertilized egg to move from the fallopian tube down into the uterus? Thank you.

How long do you have to get pregnant with a blocked fallopian tube?

I just found out I have one blocked fallopian tube but I'm not planning to have children for a couple of years. Will I still be able to get pregnant if I wait?
I'm 28 and just found out I have a blocked fallopian tube due to endometriosis. My husband and I were not planning to have children for a couple of years.Does this decrease my chance of having children if I wait?
----------

it decreases your chances by half. Before the age of 30, your chances of getting pregnant each cycle are 20%. Now, it's 10%. After 30, it's 5%. You better get started earlier then later if you want to have kids. There is still a chance of conceiving naturally, but it is slim. You would do better with IVF.  (+ info)

How to get the Sperm to the egg/fallopian tube?

Hubby and I baby danced last night. The doctor informed me that I have a tilted uterus, is there anything that I can and should be doing to make certain that the sperm gets to the fallopian tube?
----------

Did he say which way it was tilted? Mine is tilted up and he told me that after BD lay with my feet in the air and a pillow under my bum for at least 20 mins. then turn onto my stomch for about 15 min. more. Good luck and baby dust!  (+ info)

If you only have 1 fallopian tube will it shorten your period?

I recently got my right fallopian tube removed. Will this mean that I will get a shorter period or does that not have anything to do with the length of it?
----------

No, because when you have two they alternate between periods, and so you only use one at a time. When your body senses that you only have one estrogen-manufacturer, it makes up for it. You only really need one, but I guess nature decided two just in case. :)  (+ info)

How can my fallopian tube be weak?

I had an ectopic pregnancy and my one fallopian tube had to be removed. During the surgery the surgeon stated that he had to drain my other tube because there was blockage and noticed that my other tube was weak. What could have caused the tube to become weak?

What will be my ovulation pattern now that I only have 1 fallopian tube?

I just recently lost my baby last week through tubal pregnancy. Last week, they had to remove my left fallopian tube so I just wan to know what my ovulation pattern will look like?
Okay, I know I will still ovulate every month. To clarify the question, what will be the pregnancy ovulation pattern? How often will I be able to actually get pregnant?
----------

You'll still probably still ovulate each month but since you only have one tube you may only be able to get pregnant every other month.  (+ info)

Which fallopian tube does sperm go to for conception?

Does the sperm automatically go to the fallopian tube that has the Egg? or do sperm go to both fallopian tubes?
----------

They go to both. The sperm dont' know where the egg is ... they just swim blindly and ... with a little luck ... one will find the egg. (That's why it so often takes several months to get pregnant ... of those millions of sperm it's a long shot for even ONE to find the egg.)  (+ info)

How much does it cost out of pocket to have laparoscopic surgery to removed fallopian tube?

I have an enlarged/blocked fallopian tube that needs to be removed but I'm concerned that my insurance won't cover it does anyone know how much it cost out of pocket to have it done??
----------

It could cost several thousand dollars (that's including the for the anesthesia process and the medications as well).

As for your insurance, if they should refuse to cover it ask your doctor to help you with writing to the insurance to explain the medical necessity of the procedure.  (+ info)

With only one fallopian tube working - how will this affect my chances of getting pregnant?

I've had the end of one of my fallopian tubes removed when I gave birth to my son by emergency cesarean 17 months ago.

We have been ttc since last September without luck. Does anyone else have experience of this or know how long it might take me to get pregnant with just one tube working?

Also I am 35 now and worrying that my fertility will have dropped anyway with age! Struggling to cope with the disappointment every month.
----------

My mom had one fallopian tube when she had me, she had to have it taken out after my brother caused some damage. She was told that having the one tube would mean she would be more likely to have a girl i think it took her 6 months to conceive me. Just keep going, good luck  (+ info)
