Why do eye diseases mostly occur in people who wear strong glasses or corrections for many years?

eye diseases like macular degeneration, retinal detachment, and cataracts?
----------

A lot of those conditions are more prone to the elderly, sometimes people with high negative prescriptions (myopes) are more prone to retinal detachments because their eye is more in the shape of an egg than round like average, leaving their retina more prone to damage.  (+ info)

Are my under eye bags serious or just hereditary?

I've seen people with under eye bags and none of them are my age im about 16 and my under eye bags are twice the size of my eye, and when i wake up in the morning they're so puffed up that they actually push on my bottom lashes, and the puffy bags are very very round and puffy theyre not deflated or anything but theyre very unsightly. ive tried tons of at home things like cumbers and teabags etc. and nothing has even helped! so is this serious?
----------

Undereye bags certainly can be hereditary. They run in my family, and I inherited it from my mother. Even when I was a little girl I had that. It was never so puffy that it pushed on my bottom lash line though. Perhaps the undereye bags are exacerbated by a lot of salt intake? Salt can make these worse, so maybe try cutting back on that. And you could also see a doctor to check if there is anything else you could do, or if there's something else causing the puffiness. Certain medical conditions can cause this. I hope this helps!  (+ info)

What are inoperable eye diseases that slowly cause blindness?

I'm writing a story in which the character is slowly going blind because of a disease in his eyes, but can't have surgery to fix it.

Or it doesn't even have to be blindness. Just something which causes him to have difficulty living the same life he used to because of the inability to see properly.

How to get rid of hereditary under-eye circles, forever?

From experience, does anyone know of a treatment that actually works? I dont mean the kind of circles you get when you are tired. If there is a cure for this, what is the cost and any other details you want to give. Thanks!
----------

Ok, above answers are true, there is no cream or treatment that will zap away under eye circles, especially if they are hereditary. The only cure for non-hereditary ones is more sleep and proper hydration - I would recommend this for you too, so that the problem doesn't get worse.

In order to correct the circles though, you need a concealer that has a yellow based tone in it to counteracted the blueish tone in the under eye circles. A good one that I like is Cover Girl Advanced Radiance Concealer in Under-eye disguise (colour 225) which I use on top of my Neutrogena Radiance Boost Eye Cream which although I know it will not reduce the dark circles it does help puffiness and it's a moisturizer that you can put around your eyes in order to reduce your chances of getting crows feet at an early age. I've been using both products for about 3 months now and I'm very happy with them. Hope this helps!  (+ info)

What eye problems/diseases can i get prescription marijuana for?

I was recently diagnosed with keratoconus, and i'm wondering, if I should invest in a sack of weed because of this.
----------

I know that marijuana helps with glaucoma by keeping your eye pressure at bay (certainly did for me), but I don't know about keratoconus. Now, I'm all for smoking weed regardless of medical condition, hehe. But if this is the only reason you're going to do it, I would definitely research it a bit more or even talk to your doctor about it.  (+ info)
