my mother was diagnosed with multiple fybrooids?

Her ultra sounds she has endometrial thickness is 5.4mm and smooth. Right ovary measure is 25mm and left ovary is 29mm. Conclusion of ultra is bulky uterus with multiple fibroids.
h
Histopathology report:

GROSS EXAMINATION. SPECIMEN CONTAINER IS LABLED WITH PATIENTS RELEVANT INFORMATION RECEIVED IN FORMALIN IS LIGHT BROWN PIECE OF TISSUE MEASURING 2*1*1 CM. sUBMITTED AS SUCH IN c-1.

mICROSCOPIC DESCRIPTION. tHE SCETIONS REVEAL EARLY SECRETORY PHASE ENDOMETRIUM tHE STROMA HAS MODERATE INFILTRATION BY LYMPHOCYTES AND PLASMA CELLS.

DIAGNOSIS: EARLY SECRETORY ENDOMETRIUM WITH CHRONIC ENDOMETRITIS.

She is taking injection once a month for three months to shrink the fibroids. I think the name of injection is lukrine depot S/C.

Is this treatment for this paticular condition?

Is this something like cancer or it is cancer or early stages of cancer.

Does this hitopathology report sings of cancer or not cancer?
----------

I'm not a Dr/medical professional either...just a woman whose original diagnosis was uterine fibroids. Well it wasn't just fibroids, it was a rare form of uterine cancer which by the time they did some simple blood work, it was stage 4. I am on a drug called Lupron-Depo (which sounds similar to what your mom is on as well). Lupron can have some nasty side effects...the worst of which fir me was hair loss (thinning) and hot flashes like you wouldn't believe,,,but it does work quite well. I would ask for blood tests for tumor markers (one is CA-125 usually it is for ovarian cancer, but I have a rare cancer and CA-125 is indicative). Anyway..if you and your mom are worried, please please get second and 3rd opinions. If I had maybe I would have only been stage 1 or 2 when they found it.  (+ info)

Can i still be pregnant after the Doc made a urine test and said it was negative?

I been having pregnancy symptoms such as breast soreness, need to sleep, abdominal pains and my period is missing almost 7 days, the doctor gave me a treatment for Endometritis and also a shot to bring down my period i don't know what to think now because its been 3 days since then and my period still don't come. Any body had a similar problem?
What i mean is that i been having all the pregnancy symptoms before i went to see the doc and he gave me that shot to bring my period and also told me that i had Endometrisis its been 3 days since I've seen the doc and my period still don't come and am still having pain and all these symptoms, am concern cuz me and my bf was trying to conceive these past 2 months.
----------

The shot that your doctor gave you to bring on your period is hormonal and can create all the symptoms that you describe. Give it another week and if your period still hasn't come then go back your doctor and get another test.  (+ info)

confused about infection after d&C?

I had a D&C (for medical reasons please do not judge!) procedure on last friday and by sunday i had really bad chills, a fever (between 100-102 up &down), nausea, weird discharge(no bleeding), severe abdominal cramping& lower back cramping, and weakness/dizziness. I was sent home with antibiotics which i was taking as directed. I called the place i had it performed and they did not get back to me until Monday evening and they said they called in another antibiotic for me to start taking immediately because they thought i had an infection. They didn't have me come in to be checked or anything. Well by tuesday night my fever had gone down but i still had all the other symptoms and they were getting worse so i went to the ER. There they did a bunch of blood work & ultrasounds to make sure i didn't have any retained particles or was becoming septic. The ER doctor told me that i had a bunch of blood in my uterus & that i had an infection that hadn't spread but wasn't responding to the antibiotics and that i needed to be on IV antibiotics & stay in the hospital. I was in the hospital 2days and it wasn't until i started my stay there that i started passing blood & bright red clots which they said it meant new blood& as long as it wasn't too much it was ok but the doctor i saw once i was admitted told me that he wasn't able to tell me for sure that i had an infection because my WBC count in my blood work was ok but the WBC count in my urine was very high. They sent me home with another set of antibiotics and he told me if i get worse to come back. How could one doctor tell me i had Endometritis & they other not be sure? how can a doctor not be sure...i don't get it?
i am still very weak/nauseous (more than before) and i am in more pain, passing more blood/clots than before but i dont have a fever/chills anymore. they said the antibiotcs they gave me in the IV should have killed whatever i had but they didnt do any other tests from when i was admitted to see & i still dont feel good.

It is very common to be in the situation where doctors differ in opinion about the medical status of a patient. This can sometimes result in misdiagnosis or delayed diagnosis. Doctors are not "all-knowing" and are not gods, and we cannot and should not expect them to be.

If your test results do not match your symptoms (like you have normal WBC, but clearly have an infection from your symptoms), then it obscures the picture for the doctor and makes it harder for them to work out what is wrong.

The main thing is to make sure you are getting better yourself - you need to educate yourself, so that you can ask the right questions.

How are you now? If you are still having worries about your condition, persist with the doctors and keep going back.

=====
Just read your additional notes - go back and let them know that you are feeling sick and passing clots. You may need an ultrasound, and ask for a full blood count and another urine test - you may have had or do have a urinary tract infection which is unrelated to the everything else . Take some iron tablets - you can get these over the counter at the chemist.  (+ info)

Natural vs C Section for a peripartum cardiomyopathy recent discovered?

Today I'm starting my 38th week of pregnancy. Ejection Fraction is 35%, no simptoms now, just for couple of days in the beging of November I felt pressure in my chest and the need to take in more air.
Cardiologist and OBGYN want a C Section as soon as possible. I read about pros for induced natural delivery with no push.
Vaginal deliveries are preferred because third-spacing of fluid, endometritis, and pulmonary emboli occur much more often after cesarean deliveries.

"Early and effective pain control during delivery is paramount. Regional anesthesia, such as epidural or spinal, is not associated with the myocardial depression observed with inhaled anesthetics."

Malpractice? Need advice.?

I had a baby about 8 weeks ago on Dec 2. Delivery went fine and I had no complications. Two weeks later I started hemmorhaging fist-sized clots and gushing blood. I went to the ER at the hospital where I delivered. They did an internal exam and pressed around on my abdomen and basically told me that I was no longer actively bleeding and then sent me home.
At my 6-week post partum appointment, the doctor checked me out and said I was good to go. He didn't mention the bad smell of the discharge and I asked him if I should still be bleeding the way I was and he told me it was "spotting" from the Depo shot I received the week before. I told him I was having a much heavier flow than just "spotting" but he still insisted nothing was wrong with me.
So I went back to my normal lifestyle - working and exercising. The following week on Jan 20 I was at work when I started another massive hemmorhage. I was only 5 minutes away from the hospital, so when I got there I was still bleeding pretty badly and this time passed at least 5 of those fist-sized clots. They did internal exams and an ultrasound and said I had more stuff up in my uterus and a D & C would be performed on me the following morning.
After the D & C the doctor told me I had a pretty bad uterine infection called endometritis and it was causing my heavy bleeding and hemmorhages. My husband asked why no one checked me for the infection a month ago the first time I had the massive bleeding and the doctor didn't give us an answer.
My husband and friends are telling me to seek a lawyer and a possible malpractice suit. I don't know what to do about it, so I just wanted to get some unbiased opinions. What do you think?
----------

Honestly I would say no. Unless there is permanent damage then there is no need for a lawsuit. You and your husband must feel angry at the doctors who missed this infection however a lawsuit will only impede their ability to help others. They are human and sometimes miss infections due to irregular symptoms, slow gestation rate, and general human error.

Just remember that doctors do good for the community much more often than they miss a diagnosis. To hinder their ability to help others could cause great loss for someone else.  (+ info)

Why should intercourse be avoided during PID treatment?

I was wondering if anyone knew why sexual intercourse should be avoided during Acute Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) treatment, and at least seven days after both partners have finished their antibiotics?

Is this primarily pertaining towards cases where the infection is based on a sexually transmitted infection (STI) so that they can ensure that they have it controlled or removed it from the infected party? PID can be caused by a number of bacteria that have just moved deep into the reproductive organs, or even a long list of other problems are categorized under the term PID:

"The term, pelvic inflammatory disease has been used to describe an entire group of infections including simple cervicitis, to endometritis, to salpingitis, (inflammation of the fallopian tubes), to pelvic peritonitis, and finally to generalized peritonitis, perihepatitis, or pelvic abscess" (http://content.nhiondemand.com/psv/HC1.asp?objID=100632&ctype=hc)

I am unsure exactly why sexual intercourse should be avoided for up to seven days even after the antibiotics have been taken in cases where it is not caused by STIs. Does sexual intercourse really need to be completely avoided, or would it still be reasonable to engage in sexual relations?

If you know the consequences for these actions, or why they recommend to avoid it please answer.

If you have any sources for your information that would be great. I have done some searching and they all fail to state why sexual intercourse should be avoided, and merely state to avoid it for seven days after treatment.
----------

I think you and/or your partner should talk to your doctor for complete, accurate answers. My guess would be that intercourse during treatment could possibly hinder treatment by bacteria (or the cause of the pid) being transmitted to one or both of you. Also, it's common for women to experience pain during intercourse with pid, so I don't think you'd want to put your girlfriend through that. It's only a few days. Just wait.  (+ info)

Is there any chance i may be pregnant?

My partner and i have been trying for a baby for at least 4 months with no signs yet, i cam off the depo injection in november last year and my periods did not return untill march this year, since march they have been very irregular sometimes lastin around 3-4 weeks.
I went to the doctors to have swabs done but they all came back clear for things like endometritis.
After about 3 weeks of not bleeding I have now got a very dark brown discharge, which is very light, and it seemed to only last 2 days or so, i have heard of implantation bleeding, but i am not sure if this is what i am going through.
I am afraid of doing a pregnancy test at the moment incase it comes back neg, i would just like to get my head round it first?
Does any one know what i am going through or what is causing this?

Ok so...ttc question?

My husband and I have been "trying" for a yr now that meaning using no protection etc well today I realized I was a bout 3 ays late my breasts are very tender (more so then usual) but this maybe because they are bigger then they normally get plus my nipples have gotten bigger which has never happened and honestly I didn't thin kwas possible.
So what does this sound like? Just unusual period or preg symptoms? I have not gotten preg and thought I had something called endometritis because I get ovarian cysts so we didn't really know if it was possible...anyways any advice would be much appreciated!

Thanks

You are 3 days late, you will be able to get an accurate result from a HPT. You do have pregnancy symptoms.
Good luck!!  (+ info)

My period came 1 week early but was strange and now Im having pg symptoms?

So my AF was not due until this past monday but it started last week. It was strange, very dark, brown turning to pink. Sometimes watery, sometimes red. Very strange clots as well. Not very many of them but those I did have were small, stringy and strangely shaped. The smell was different the color was different. And what stood out was that I had very very mild cramping. (Ive had severe cramping since Feb. I think endometritis or PID or something) So hardly any cramping plus a light period a week early.

Now over a week later, Im feeling nauseous, dizzy, bloated, constipated, hungry changing to not hungry at all, trying not to throw up, a dull headache and it feels like my uterus is a little swollen. I did a pg test last Saturday night but it was negative. Could I actually be pregnant? I know I had a light period a week ago but could it have been breakthrough bleeding or heavy implantation bleeding? With all my poor uterus has been through I wonder if it would bleed more.
Advice?
----------

The best thing to do is ask a doctor. But don't get overly worried over this for now. If you do than you might make yourself sicker and that is not good.  (+ info)
