What does your doctor say? If you can't handle exercise, then eat fewer calories. And if you are really having difficulty with your intestines when you exercise, you should check with your doctor. You could have a more serious condition that doesn't have anything to do with your weight. If your intestines bother you, then you should check for colon cancer or other conditions.  (+ info)

Diarrhea is a condition in which loose, watery stools are passed more often than normal. Diarrhea is a common symptom of a gastrointestinal disturbance. It is characterized by frequent loose stools and may be accompanied by abdominal pain, cramping, nausea, and fatigue. Sometimes there will be blood and/or mucous in the stool.
Dysentery is a disease that primarily affects the intestines. Usually found in poorer areas of the world, the Shigella bacteria causes diarrhoea along with the passing of mucus and blood. Although dysentery is a relatively easy disease to cure, mortality rates can be high, and particularly among children.

How long will dysentery (with lots of blood) last? My 5-yr old has had it for 8 days with no anti-biotics.?

The doctor has asked us to wait it out. Culture tests came out negative for pathogens. We are very worried as his condition is not improving. His blood count looks okay and he has no fever and he is active. He has stomach cramps and his poop is liquidy.
----------

For god sakes get a second opinion! If there are no pathogens it can be a variety of other medical conditions.
