I was diagnosed with gastric ulcer and duodenitis.?

I've read online that doctor should prescribe either an H2 receptor antagonist or a proton pump inhibitor combined with two antibiotics. My doctor only prescribed prilosec. Why didn't he prescribe the two antibiotics? I'm still in a lot of pain and I'm not sure what I can eat and what to avoid.
----------

you need to be tested for h. pylori before taking antibiotics. if the test is positive, you should take the antibiotics.
it's usually prilosec or prevacid with clarithromycin and amoxicillin or clarithromycin plus metronidazole. you'll heal without the antibiotics but the problem is likely to recur if you don't treat for h. pylori. ask your doctor for the blood test for h. pylori.  (+ info)

How long until I get over my gastritis?

Actually I have esophagitis-gastritis-duodenitis, so basically my entire GI tract is inflamed. I've been on Aciphex for almost two weeks and it's only slightly better. (I've been sick for months; I only just started treatment.) I need to do things other than lay in bed all day (such as, oh, get a job), but I can't when I still become acutely nauseous for no apparent reason. How long until this goes away?
it cut me off there. It should say "esphagitis gastritis duodenitis," with hyphens.

What is Duodenitis?

They foung it on my EGD. ALSO WHAT IS NODULAR MUCOSA? THEY FOUND IT ON MY FIRST COLONOSCOPY!
----------

It sounds like you might have an Ulcer in Stomach as in Duodenum. Colon refers to a part of Stomach and Nodule is a Piece of Skin like Growth and Mucus is a Phleghm like Substance. I t looks like they are looking for Ulcers, it dosent necessary mean that you have an Ulcer . When you are in Hospital they have to keep searching until they find out whats wrong with you. When I was in Hospital they kept doing all sorts of tests until they found out I had Gall Bladder trouble usually caused by Gall Stones. I had X rays, Ultra Sound, Endoscopy,Mri Scans, and CT Scans. At first they thought I had Drunk a Bottle of Whisky and said they thought it was Pancreatitis but I told them I didnt Drink any Alcohol that Day and I only Drank very Little anyway. Then they Surmised I had an Ulcer, Then Examined me for possibility of Cancers, Hepatitis, Liver Disease. Then eventually Gall Bladder and a Benign Cyst.  (+ info)

My husband has been complaining for a stomach upset for almost 17 years. He's 44 years old and had his?

Gall bladder removed since1989.We consulted moreDoctors, some says it's Duodenitis, other Doctors said it's irritable colon, others said it's psychological.Butter, egg yolk, cream, milk,is prohibited in his food. Most of the time i cook boiled and grilled foods for all to avoid temptation.any suggestions for what he really have? and which recipes will i add for cooking since he seems to be fed up with the types of food he ate for the last 17 years.
----------

Oh, I really wish your husband can be helped with this. Here's a website where I send friends of mine when they're looking for some answers. They're very helpful and honest.
The problem with "stomach" pain is that it's not always the "stomach" but that's how a lot of people describe it. Also, there are tons of things that can go wrong from bacteria, to fungus to other or dreadful illnesses.
I've got 2 girlfriends who suffered for months until they realised that one has Celiac Disease the other Chron's (though depending who you asked it seems it's the same thing). In any case, the one with Celiac is basically doing really well as long as she sticks to her no gluten diet.
The other one is still not quite sure what needs to be eliminated, but she's doing *much* better.
A very health 2008 to you and your loved ones.  (+ info)

endoscopy test, shows several small discrete erosions in D1, what is that?

on my patient copy, after the Duodenum it says the above...
also it says without background duodenitis...
Does anyone know what is this mean please? thanks
thanks "germ doctor"
there was no "c" on there, but i suspect it is more than just coeliac i have... i most likely will have to have a colonoscopy to check the rest out, maybe?

I am 58 years old.For three years now I have had stomach problems.I will continue this in my details.?

I feel like there is somthing stuck in my stomach.I have little or no appetite. If I eat greasy foods I feel bad.The doctor said I have a hiatal hernia, gastritis, and duodenitis. I always feel tired and I have lost weight.I have gone to many doctors but none have really helped.I have taken prvacid, but this did not help either. Some have said this could be stress related.I hope someone can help or someone who has recovered from something similar could answer my questions.

thank you
----------

A second opinion is needed here, by a new doctor. My sister was suffering a lot of those symptoms and they got triggered by greasy food, yet it was her gall bladder that was infected. She had to have it removed and the acid reflux and stomach pains and cramping and vomiting instantly stopped. Hernias can be removed if they pose enough of a problem. I would explore other options and get yourself another opinion. Someone that takes you seriously. Prevacid seems like such a mild medication to me as far as what you are dealing with. Prevacid is for acid reflux and I don't see how it would help the hernia. Good luck, sorry you are dealing with this constant discomfrot.  (+ info)

Do you think the unpleasant smell/odor in my office makes me sick? Please help.?

There's a large pipe in one corner of my office. This pipe is connects all the restrooms from each floor to the septic tank. Though I'm not so sure if it really comes from that pipe, an unpleasant smell lingers in my office no matter how try to get rid of it. Do you think it can make me sick? For more than a year now, my digestive system had been suffering from acid reflux, gastric ulcer and duodenitis. I never smoked and drank occasionally. Please share your opinion. thanks.
----------

Yes, goodness yes. Our pike in the bathroom was leaking. It was leaking for awhile, but didn't know until I notice that the water was on the floor. I have to tear the wall down. Beside it fill with back mold. I don't know if its smell, or it course me to have a stress from seeing it, when I tried to clean up the mess, I got sick very bad. I heard that some mold will make you sick.  (+ info)
