How to get rid of contact dermatitis?

I am allergic to the metal in all belts, which is a bad thing cause I have to wear one, so I have contact dermatitis on my stomach. I have tried different things such as tucking in an under shirt and using band aids (which I am also allergic to :( ) but it wont seem to go away. I would rather not go to the doctor again for it so can anyone tell me a good way to get rid of it?
----------

you can use a bit of cortisone for the inflamation. Have you tried clear nail polish painted on all the metal parts?  (+ info)

How long will it take till my seborrheic dermatitis to go away?

I went to see my dermatologist last week and was told i had seborrheic dermatitis around my nose and was told to use Hydrocortisone 1% and its been a week now and i barely notice a difference.......how long does it usually take till it completely goes away? Its very disappointing to have to put on this cream and wakeup and notice nothings changed....it hasn't gotten worse but it also hasn't gotten better. What's the time frame when it comes to this?
----------

For everybody it is different. Steroids did not work at all for my SD. I've found anti-eczema herbal remedies at serenaskin.com that works very well for me. Cream and spray cleared the skin and now i just take anti-eczema extract to prevent future flare-ups. I'm pleased with the results.  (+ info)

Any recommendations for a dermatologist in the Chicago area that specializes in eczema and dermatitis?

Trying to find a dermatologist who is patient and dedicated to working with me to resolve eczema/dermatitis issues.
----------

I am not familiar with dermatologists in this area, but I can tell you that in majority of the cases doctors prescribe steroid creams and other awful stuff for relieving eczema. I recommend you start treating your condition with natural methods right from the start to cure the cause of eczema not the symptoms.

A great article to start with can be found here:

I hope this helps. I have yet to hear from a case where eczema was eliminated once and for all only with prescribed medications.  (+ info)

What are some products to help with seborrheic/sabaceous dermatitis?

Are there any products that I could wash my body with in the shower that would help with sabaceous dermatitis?
----------

Just a "heads up" knowledge piece. Experts are saying that the skin gets weakened by a lack of Selinium. But, supplements do little good in pill form as they don't break down right for availability. Do your research on it, but try to get a liquid form of Selinium.....a brand worth looking at is Aqua Sel. Find it, it will help. BTW, selinium is missing in our diets naturally because we have depleted the soil of it as it's a mineral.....farming practices are to blame! Aqua Sel.....specifically helps with the MANY types of dermatitis.  (+ info)

Could a staph infection be the cause of my dermatitis?

I've had contact dermatitis for over 10yrs and have just found out I have a staph infection. Is it possible that I've had this infection for as long as I've had dermatitis and once rid will my dermatitis stay away?
----------

no way! trust me if youve had an active staph infection for over 10 years youd be dead by now. lol. it would have to be colonized for it not to kill you. which im sure it is if you dont have an open wound or anything with staph in it.
you have a little bit of staph on your skin anyways. its part of your natural flora (the germs on your skin that help prevent other infections).
but no staph does not cause dermatitis.  (+ info)

What to use for seborrhoeic dermatitis?

I have a bad case of seborrhoeic dermatitis and frankly nothing I have use works it just lessens the cause. The area around my nose gets really dry and flaky skin and I have a bad case of dandruff. I have tried using many different shampoos with various known ingredients. Also have used witch hazel and tea tree oil on my face with results not as bad but still annoying to deal with daily. Is there anything else you guys can think that I can try? It's become a bad situation to deal with everyday.
----------

I have SD for more than 5 years.
After using number of prescription drugs I've turned to the natural treatments.
Now I use herbal remedies from serenaskin.com, which aim at the root of the disease - the immune system, and are steroid-free.
After about 2 weeks of using anti-eczema ointment and spray my skin has been cleared up and now I just continue with anti-eczema extract, which controls the immune system. My skin has been clear for months now.
It is the only treatment I have found that provides me complete relief when I use it as directed.
I would definitely recommend it.  (+ info)

Does seborrheic dermatitis cause hair loss?

Also, are there any proven natural remedies to control or rid of this condition? Any harm in using those tar shampoos over a long period of time? I am hesistant to do anything which will cause hair loss and am scared if I don't that the seborrheic dermatitis will itself cause hair loss. I also have it on face now :( Any sufferers know how to control this?
----------

if you scratch and pick at it, yes, hair loss will occur. do you have a dermatologist? you can try stuff like t-gel products (shampoo, etc.), but you need a good dermatologist. good luck!  (+ info)

Will getting rid of dandruff "possibly" get rid of my seborrheic dermatitis on my face?

I've heard of cases where getting rid of dandruff also got rid of a patients seborrheic dermatitis. Is this true?

I've got seb. dermatitis on my face and also dandruff. Any cream I use seems to do nothing on my dermatitis. Perhaps getting rid of my persistent dandruff first might help? Do they have a connection?
----------

wash your hair and face with tea tree oil and give up dairy products  (+ info)
