Is there anything that I can do to get rid of these chills?

I've had this flu since yesterday morning and I have these horrible chills one minute i'm boiling hot and the next i'm freezing cold to the point where i'm shivering and I can't get warm. Is there anything I can do so that i'm normal? I've had the flu lots of times and I have never felt like this. Every bone in my body aches, my hands keep twiching, i'm extremely tired, I can't sit up or stand for too long, I can't walk, my skin feels like it's on fire, My skin is clammy and i feel pins and needles everywhere, I feel nautious, I have a horrible headache, and it took me like 15 minutes to write this. This is like a normal flu. What's wrong with me?

Oh dear!!! You've got the bad one! We had it a few weeks ago and are just now getting back to normal. ALL THE SAME SYMPTOMS! It is horrible! Stay covered up with heavy blankets even if you're sweating. You have to break the fever. My doc said to take Ibuprofen to reduce the fever and the pain. Doesn't your head feel like its going to EXPLODE? I couldn't have any light or sound or anything it hurt so bad! Don't let it fool you, either. After a couple days you will start to feel better and as soon as you start doing activity it knocks you on your bum again!! Take it easy... Lot's of fluids and try to eat a little something!

Are chills always a sign of miscarriage?

I've had chills on and off for weeks throughout my pregnancy and I freak out everytime it happens and run to the doc. Everything on the net associates chills with miscarriages. My ob has no explanation for it.... I'm baffled.
----------

I have had two miscarriages.
Chills are not a sign of a miscarriage.
Chills can be indicators that you might be getting the flu or the most common reason is your body needs to rest. If you get chills, your body is telling you to slow down and take it easy for a while. Put your feet up and relax. Don't over do it.
It is nothing to be worried about.
Most miscarriages happen in the first 8 weeks of pregnancy. After that your out of the danger zone.  (+ info)

Anyone get chills without a fever? If so what do you do for them?

I get such chills at times, I can not get warm even covered up in three blankets. I finely have to get a very hot bath, which stops the chills but soon they are back again. I just don't know what is causing them and I sure would like to get them stopped. Thanks.
----------

Low blood pressure can result in cold chills. The kind that feels like your bones are chilling. Eat some vitamin K rich foods, and take and eat something that is high in iron. You may not be a fan of liver, but it is one of the highest sources of iron and protein which will help you feel better.  (+ info)

Tonight my son keeps getting chills and then crying right afterwards. Any ideas?

He is fine and playing then he gets the chills and starts crying like something is hurting him. What do you think it could be? He doesn't have a temperature and is fine otherwise.
He is 8 months old and just finished antibiotics for an ear infection. Dr. said he is all healed on that front, anyways.

Could be a UTI...you don't need a fever necessarily with a UTI and it is more common in boys than girls in infancy. I would bring him in to get tested.  (+ info)

can you cover jello while it chills?

can you cover jello while it chills? or should it stay uncovered? i always do it uncovered but am just curious... thanks!
----------

Yes you can, but if it is hot it will take longer to set if covered. To speed up setting you can place the bowl of jello in the sink with a level of cold water in it and it will chill faster thus set faster. Leave it in the water for about 15 minutes then place in fridge. Don't forget now "Lemon"is my favourite!!!  (+ info)

What does it mean when you don't have hot flashes just chills during your pregnancy?

I am about 6-7 weeks pregnant now and for the past week I have had cold chills all hours of the day instead of hot flashes. I have gained 7lbs. and am sicker than with my last pregnancy that I had about 4yrs. ago. I wanted to know if anyone has experienced this same thing and what it meant to them.

Your body is going through an amaxing amount of hormones right now and is out of balance

oN THIS SITE YOU SHOW 2 OF THE SIGNS OF A PROBLEM
I would call your doctor

http://www.allayurveda.com/pregnancy/pregnancy3.htm

The vast majority of pregnancies are uncomplicated and end with the birth of a normal, healthy baby. Even when complications do occur, early diagnosis and treatment will often prevent serious problems. Early and regular prenatal care is the best insurance against problems in pregnancy. Regular care enables the doctor to watch for abnormal changes in blood pressure, blood, urine, or weight. Such changes may be warnings of potential problems.

Regular care also helps you learn to recognize the difference between the normal changes your body is going through and those which may represent early warning signs.

It is important that you recognize these early warning signs so that you can notify your doctor or someone at the clinic immediately.

Bleeding, no matter how slight, from the vagina, rectum, nipple, or lungs (coughing blood)

Swelling or puffiness of the face or hands

A SUDDEN LARGE WEIGHT GAIN

Persistent severe swelling of the legs

Severe or repeated headaches

Dimness, blurred vision, flashes of light, or spots before your eyes

Sharp or prolonged pain in your abdomen

Severe or continued vomiting

CHILLS/OR FEVER

Sudden escape of fluid from the vagina

If you notice any of these signs, do not wait for your next checkup. Contact your doctor immediately, so the cause of the problem can be identified and treatment begun.

Following are some of the problems that can occur during pregnancy.  (+ info)

What can be causing chronic fever and chills for the last 6 months ?

I am going to see a doctor in a few days.

3x in the last 6 months I had chills and a high fever (102-103) that lasted 24 hours or less. In the past two weeks when I have been feeling cold, I took my temperature and I had a low grade fever (99.8-100.6). This happened 4 times but in 2-3 hour the fever is gone and I am back to normal.

I had a thyroidectomy after thyroid cancer, the surgery was 3 1/2 years ago. I take levothyroxine.
----------

You could have a chronic, low grade infection. Did you have any other treatment for your cancer, such as radiation or chemotherapy? Both of those treatments will decrease your immune system's ability to fight disease.

There are some infections that don't make you very sick, but can persist for a long time. A couple of examples that come to mind are: walking pneumonia and mononucleosis. If you have a mild form of either one of those diseases, you can have persistent fever.

I think it is important that you be checked by your doctor. You might need some lab tests to help determine what is going on. Hope you feel better soon.  (+ info)

Is it normal to have a fever and chills on the first day of your period?

A couple of times now, I have had cramping, fever, and chills on the first day of my period. I don't think it is TSS. What causes this?
----------

not really. some women due to hormones tend to have little fever or chills but just the first day.. especially if you have caught a cold it's normal that you are sensitive that day. if your fever is high and keeps happening you should better see a doctor  (+ info)
