How do you treat a scalp that's peeling from a chemical burn due to a hair perm?

hair perms, chemical burns, scalp peeling
I had my hair permed around 2 weeks ago. I noticed that my scalp was peeling in the front. I know it's a chemical burn from the perm solution, but is there anything that I can use to treat it or help it go away. I'm getting married in a month and I really don't want the peeling to be there. Help!

You just have to keep the scalp moist. Not with something that's too greasy but something medicated that will keep it moist to stop the peeling and to soothe the skin as well. BNT Ointment works well. Good luck!  (+ info)

Chemical burns on the eye. My mom accidentally put some kind of nail treatment in her eye instead of eye drops

Why they make them the same shape as eye drop bottles I'll never know (this happened to another older personI know). Anyway, if it's a chemical burn on the eye, can that layer of damaged eye regenerate? It's cloudy right now and she says she can't see out of it, but that was yesterday.
Uh, I should clarify - she went to the ER yesterday. She's asleep and dad's working so I don't have anyone to ask the details on this. I assume that the top layer of your eye will regenerate because we've all scratched our eyes from time to time. Thanks everybody!

I am sure she should seek advice and treatment from a medical professional. Her eyes and her vision are not something she should take a chance on losing. I once burned my eye with a curling iron and had to wear a patch on my eye until it healed. It was extremely painful but I was able to see once the patch was removed a couple of days later. I would definitely call a physician and at least ask their advice. Rinse the eye with warm water in the mean time but call a professional soon!  (+ info)

how do you help heal a chemical burn on yer face fast?

i kept toothpaste on my face overnight for 2 nights and i have chemical burns on my face.
they arent open sores anymore.
but how can i make them ehal faster?
i have picture day tuesday and i dont want to walk around with purple blotches on my face:(
help? what kind of ointment can i get? does Aquaphor work?
----------

I have the same problem.
On Monday I got 4 burns on my face from using toothpaste, But one was a VERY Noticeable purple.
Moisturizing soap helps, Dove helped for me a little bit.
Also try getting Moisturizing lotion or mask for your face.

My one purple burn isn't gone yet but it was peeling, I am going to take re-takes for my photo because My face had 4 red blotches on it :(

If your a girl, you could try using cover up or foundation, It doesn't do anything but it help the redness not show so much, but if you apply it too much it will be very noticeable.

So Just keep washing your face and putting moisturizer on.

Need help!! Any treatments to help chemical burns from hair dye?

i recently dyed my hair and it seems the dye has burnt the back of my neck. i really need help for any at home treatments i could use to get rid of it. thanks :) xxx
----------

Avoid using unbranded hair dyes, to cut on the cost. Aloe vera gel is an effective remedy for burns. Vitamin E ointment also proves beneficial. Home remedies are determined by the degree of the burn. Scarring of the facial skin is possible. Sensitive skin is one more factor causing to burns. Try checking out for professional help from a salon. Yet another alternative is to shave off your beard, thereby avoiding hair dye. If it is severe, refer to a dermatologist for further guidance  (+ info)

Question about Chemical burns?

I used Nair on my chest area and now I seem to have a chemical burn. Is there any way to treat it at home?
----------

its just that your not supposed to use nair or any leg hair removal on skin that is soft or thin like your face or your chest because it is designed for your legs that have tougher skin then your chest does. the thing to do is put regular.. unscented lotion on your chest everyday and it should go away in a couple days dont worry, your not going to get poisned and die just remember to read that back of the bottle on any lotion or things you put on your body before you use them on your skin and if you look online or anywhere sombody somewhere probably has a lotion that will remove hair on any part of your body- and DONT shave any part of you besides your legs it looks horrible when the hair grows back  (+ info)

how many days for a light chemical peel burn to go away?

I have some chemical burns in my face.
they ar red and turning brown. how long till they go away?
----------

With an chemical peel, the temporary redness, flaking and dryness that you experience will not prevent you from working or engaging in your normal activities. A fresher and improved skin texture will result with continued AHA treatments. Remember, protecting your skin from the sun is also important following these mild acid peels. Ask your doctor to recommend a sunblock with adequate UVA and UVB protection and use it every day.

With a TCA peel, the moderate discomfort and mild swelling you may experience will subside within the first week. In about a week to ten days, your new skin will be apparent and you should be healed sufficiently to return to your normal activities. It is best to avoid sun exposure unless you are adequately protected.

With a phenol peel, new skin will begin to form in about seven to ten days. Your face will be very red at first, gradually fading to a pinkish color over the following weeks to months. During this time, it is especially important that you use a sunblock or blotchy, irregular skin coloring may result.

About two weeks after treatment, you may return to work and resume some of your normal activities. Your skin will be healed enough for you to wear makeup.

Be careful what you get into!  (+ info)

is it possible to get a chemical burn from chapstick?

For the past couple days my lips have been burning and been extremely red. I have had a chemical burn before and I feel like this might be the cause of it. I'm consistently putting chapstick on them and that burns them and makes them feel dried. Any answers.. or options to help my lips recover??
----------

You've developed an allergy to it. I was an avid chapstick user for many years, and developed an allergy to it overnight. Your only choice is to go cold turkey. You may use pure, plain petroleum jelly (Vaseline) to get over the withdrawal.  (+ info)

Help ME i think i have chemical burns on my face can anyone help!!?

----------

"Depending on how badly you are burned, go to the hospital.

However if you recently burned yourself put it under or soak it in cold water, but not freezing water!! Don't put ice on it because when you take it off it burns ten or more times worse!! It'll take a few days to recover depending on your body exactly. The skin will die and under it will grow back fresh skin and the old skin will peel and fall off. For more information on burns and what to do check out the related links sites or just go to google and type in burns or burn care. "  (+ info)
