How do I make Chemical Burns less noticable?

It's under my eye. It's not like gross or anything just a big angry red spot.
----------

A burn is a burn and it needs time to heal. Use vit-e oil to help prevent scarring, but even better is organic rosehip oil. It helps the healing process and prevents scarring. You can also apply Neosporin ointment a couple of times a day. Be gentle with this area under the eye - the skin is very thin there.
Just use some sort of ointment and let nature take it's course in healing it.

Good Luck!  (+ info)

How to best treat chemical burns to the scalp?

I dyed my hair and left the dye on for hours, even though my scalp was hurting. I figured it couldn't do much damage, but about two and a half months later I noticed my hair is thinning out, and I know it is a lot thinner than before, and I used to have very thick hair. Is there any way to fix this, and what should I do? I'm sure I had a chemical burn. Is there any way for hair to continue growing, even after this intense mistreatment on my behalf, or is this a lost cause?
----------

Go to the Dr. and then to a salon. If you put something on your hair and it makes your scalp hurt or itch, wash it out right away. It's always really good to test your skin first for sensitivity too. Dye never stays on your hair for longer than 30 minutes unless it is done by a professional.   (+ info)

Is there a remedy for chemical burns from relaxing hair?

I have just used an at home kit to relax my hair and my hairline has been burnt pretty badly. The burnt area is at the front so i desperately need a solution to heal this problem right away so that I'm not walking around with scabs at the front of my face. What can i do??
----------

you can try using Aloe to help the healing process. and do stay away from anything containing oil until the scab falls off, then use vitamin E and or cocoa butter.
the next time you relax your hair, use a protector around your hairline such as petroleum jelly. this will help protect your skin while the relaxer processes your hair.  (+ info)

Help! What can I do about chemical burns in my mouth?

I had a Tuna sandwich and a Greek Salad at Panera yesterday. The salad had alot of dressing on it and as I ate, I kept thinking that the dressing seemed way too acidic and tart. As I left the restaurant, I kept feeling a weird sensation in mouth, like a huge mouth ulcer developing. By the time I got home (15 minutes later), it felt as if my mouth were burning. I rinsed with fresh, cool water and drank 2 glasses of water also. The inside of my upper and lower lips were bright red and becoming very painful. Today it seems worse. It hurts to eat or brush my teeth. Although there are no mouth ulcers, the entire inside of my mouth is very red and sore. The only thing that I can think is that I must have had a severe allergic reaction to a chemical preservative in the salad dressing.
Has anyone experinced this? Does anyone know what I could do?
----------

IT SOUNDS TO ME LIKE A VERY LIKELY ALLERGIC REACTION OCCURRED, WHICH WAS FURTHER AGGRAVATED BY THE ACIDITY OF THAT DRESSING. FOR THE ALLERGIC REACTION TAKE SOME BENADRYL AVAILABLE AS OTC AT THE PHARMACY. FOR IMMEDIATE RELIEF, IF THIS EVER HAPPENS, RINSE BUT DO NOT SWALLOW WITH MILK.  (+ info)

What to put on chemical burns?

So I got a chemical burn on my leg this morning. I washed it out with water but wasn't sure if I could use soap or what to put on it?
Is there anything specific I should get to put on it?
----------

There are probably as many different treatments as there are chemicals. Probably flushing with lots of water was the best way to go this time, but some chemicals adversely react to water. If your situation is not serious you should be ok by doing nothing. However, If you have blisters or open wounds you should probably be seen by a doctor A.S.A.P. and bring the bottle of the chemical with you if you can. Over the next few days keep the area covered in a loose clean bandage and be very careful to watch for redness and or swelling, signs of infection. If you see this contact a Dr. immediately.  (+ info)

Will hair grow back from bald spots lefts from bleach chemical burns?

I got my hair bleached and initially had scabs on my head in the beginning of Feb. I have two bald spots the size of your thumb right at the top of the crown of my head!

There isn't any peach-fuzz growing on those spots yet since last month. ALL the hair was burned off that left two huge obvious (completley bald) spots.
will it grow back??
----------

If it has been 1 month I wouldn't worry just yet. Your scalp needs to heal from the burn. There is 2 concerns though.
#1 Depending upon how bad the burn was and how it heals you may get scar tissue, which hair will take a long time to grow through if it ever does.
#2. Burns can damage the follicle of the hair which will make the hair grow back slow and extremely thin.

There are a few things you will want to do.
#1. Evaluate how bad the burn was and determine whether or not you think there will be scar tissue. If no then go to step 2 if yes go to a dermatologist.
#2. Use a shampoo that has no sulfates. Sulfates are found in cheap shampoos. They are abrasive salts used to cleanse the hair but they do serious damage to the scalp and hair in the process.
#3. Start taking Elon Matrix 5,000 vitamins. These vitamins have biotin in them, which Dermatologists have found to help in hair regrowth. From what I have read about this product it helps rebuild the follicle and strengthen the hair. From using the product I know it works. My hair is thicker and healthier now than it has been in years. The company also has a nice sulfate free hair care collection that I use because I loved their vitamins so much I figured I would give that a shot and it's great !! They have also found it can help in allopicia patients, which most things don't help with. I'd say in your case if there's no scar tissue this should help.
#3. No more bleach for a looooooooong time.
Hope this helps! GOOD LUCK!  (+ info)
