Can someone tell me a disease and a genetic disorder for each of the following systems in the human body: Integumentary, Skeletal, Muscle, Nervous, and Endocrine.

I have to write one paper for each systems disease and genetic disorder so can you guys give me ones that are kind of common so I can find plenty information online. Thanks

PLEASE note the words "risk factors". this does not necessarily imply getting disease.
Also, do not worry. Prevalence might be fairly high in those of Mediterranean descent but most will NOT get this symdrome, even though there are age-related increases in risk.
See a doctor if you are worried about the risk. DO NOT worry though as the chances are still slim. Optimism is always best.

Is there a bone disease that is more present in African Americans and it causes your bones to ache?

My son is African American and he is adopted. We recently found out that he might genetically be predisposed to a bone disease that occurs more often in African Americans. The symptoms start in children and your bones ache at night. I can't find anything on the internet about this. Does anyone know?
In a college class i learned that African americans genetically do not absorb calcium and vitamin D as well especially if lactose intolerant. it could just be growing pains though. Those really ache and hurt if you are rapidly starting to grow.  (+ info)

include psychotic disorders as well
And include auto-immune, bacterial, and viral disorders too.
Include genetics and cancer as one disease.
Also include inflammatory diseases too. I MEAN EVERYTHING
That's too many to count. It's like counting your own hair. Plus, your friend's hair. Ok, that's a joke. The rare diseases? Only superspecialist will keep that in mind. Not even a specialist can tell you this, let alone bystanders.  (+ info)

How can Bone Marrow Transplant be successful?

Since Red Blood Cells do not contain a nucleus, it can't go through cell division (mitosis). If mitosis can't occur, how can the new blood that has been transplanted into the blood be successfully performed? How can overtime the patient would be cured from diseases such as sickle cell anemia?
Because they arent transplanting red blood cells.

They are transplanting hematopoetic stem cells, either from bone marrow, peripheral blood stem cells (the stem cells are a type of white blood cell, not red), or cord blood.

Honestly, a lot of the biology is over my head, but the stem cells would have all the material they need to replicate themselves.

I dont know the details on sickle cell anemia, but in general the bone marrow transplant replaces the entire marrow and blood system. The patient's current marrow and blood system is what is producing the sickle cell anemia, so the new marrow and blood system, one that is healthy, would not.

If you are going through this, your doctor will be able to give you specific information on what it is exactly that causes the sickle cell anemia, and why replacing the marrow will change that. I went through it for leukemia, but the diseases are different.  (+ info)

My baby is now 3 months old and he has fracture in both wrist's, elbow and femur. nobody knows what has caused these fractures...could to much swaddling have done? I need information on different types of bone diseases in babies. my husband hasbeen falsley accused of hurting the baby.
osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease) - will not show up on x-rays because it affects collagen rather than calcium

Tuberculosis of the spine or Pott's disease of the spine is curable as long as it's diagnosed early before its seious complications occurs...treatment is by a combination of antituberculous drugs for at least 9 -12 months..

Do I have a right to get my bone sampled from an infectious disease doctor?

I think I have a chronic infection from strep and I have a phone appointment with him today. Is it my right to get my bone biopsied for infection?
Is it a "right"? Not really the right question.
Does the doctor think it's necessary? If not, he'll probably refuse to do it.

Does your insurance cover it? If not, you can request it but you'll have to pay for it.

Asking if it's a "right" implies that you can make the doctor and the insurance company do something against their will that they may not feel is necessary.  (+ info)
