blister???

my boyfriend has a blister on the outside of his lip, he says it hurts and has fever. this is not the first time he has had a blister. a couple of days ago he ate me out. days passed and everything was normal we kissed and everything but no sex. yesterday when he woke up he had a blister. what could it be? i have no blisters or nothing like that on my lips or on my mouth.
maybe allergies?? or something bit him??
----------

is it a cold sore? did he have pain or tingling or itchyness in that area before he got it? if its a cold sore just becareful with oral sex because cold sores is part of the herpes virus family. (if he has a cold sore it doesnt mean he has genital herpes but he has oral herpes) but that can be transmitted to genital herpes by oral sex... cold sores are a curse  (+ info)

Blister???

Last week I got a wart froze off. The next day the area turned into a big blister, like the doctor said it would. Well I've had the blister for 6 days and its not going away. Should a bust it or what?
How long will it take for it to go away naturally then?
----------

NOOOOOOO!!! Leave it alone. The medication is doing exactly what it is supposed to do.

The blister is cutting off circulation to the wart.

Let it take it's course.  (+ info)

BLIsTeR!!!!?

i hav a blister on my ankle probably from walkin too much but it doesnt hurt, wat should i do?? wen will it get better? should i put sum kind of ointment on it kuz the skin is all dried up o.O
----------

If you can get ice on it soon after it develops, it will heal faster and won't get so bad. Other than that, just try to keep it in tact. Your body is an amazing machine and developed that blister to protect itself. If it does pop, you should put an antibiotic ointment on it to keep it from getting infected. Good luck.  (+ info)

How to cure a blister on the tip of your finger?

I have a blister on my finger from helping my husband spray paint a trailer 2 nights ago. It is UNDER the skin thus making it appear level with the rest of my finger however it is hard and painful. Should I try to relieve some pressure and poke it with a sterile needle or leave it alone? It is starting to turn red on the outer edges which I know means a possible infection is starting to set in. What are some at home tips and cures that I could use rather than visit my doc just for a blister?
----------

Since the blister is not open it is not infection beginning. It is simply the white corpusles that help to heal. Don't open it the skin underneath is not tough enough yet when it is the top will come off on it's own.  (+ info)

What is this blister on my lip and how can I get rid of it?

A couple months ago I got what looks like a blister on the inside of my lower lip. It occasionally comes close to going away. I can still feel it but it is not really visible. When I eat hot foods or things with lots of acid in them or get stressed it gets inflamed. I have seen my doctor and he recommended seeing a dermatologist but I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to remedy this or if anyone has had something similar before going. I am 100% certain it is not herpes or any sort of STD... I was tested when i went to see the doctor but all my tests came back negative and the doctor also said that it does not look at all like herpes. Also, the "blister" or bump does not hurt or itch or anything, it is just unsightly. It looks like a half cm bump that is either white or normal "lip" tone. I tried popping it thinking it was a blister and nothing came out. What gives?
----------

well if it is on the outside, it probablly is caused by the herpes virus, and not the STD one. Almost everyone has it. Just having had chicken pox or shingles as a child puts the virus in your body. i get them just from going in the sun too much. they are small, and dont hurt, unless they get dry and cracked. I use a little abriva (13.00) and they get rid of them quickly. It dosent make you dirty. its just a little virus most people carry. its not the same herpes that people have on their genitles. if inside your mouth, they are canker sores or still the herpes, Im ot sure but they could be one in the same. There are other causes, but if your basically healthy, you have no worries. Lupus would be one, but It seems your male, young, and women make up 90% of Lupus paitents, another is maybe your allergic to somthing and dont know it.  (+ info)

What would be the easiest way to pop a fresh blister?

I know your not suppose to pop blisters but can someone tell me the easiest way to pop a fresh blister. The blister is on my foot.
----------

The key to treating blisters begins with preventing them. The best and easiest way to avoid developing blisters on your feet is to simply wear shoes that fit. If your shoes are too long or too thin, then while engaging in a lot of physical activity, blisters have a high probability of forming. This is because blisters are formed through friction - minimizing this force is your objective.

Unfortunately, blisters are not always prevented and, in some cases, seemingly cannot be prevented, so some methods of treatment are necessary for when they develop. Keep in mind that if you have a blister that is small and does not cause any pain, no treatment may be necessary. Simply waiting until the problem remedies itself naturally can save a lot of effort and can potentially prevent accidental infection. This is the ideal situation, but it is not always realistic.

Blisters can inhibit your ability to so much as walk, so the key to treating blisters is to eliminate the pain without adding the risk of infection. Probably the most common method of dealing with a blister is to drain it. Begin by washing the area. Next, poke a small hole in the blister with a sanitary object (for example, to sanitize a sewing needle, hold it over a candle flame for a few seconds). Then drain out all of the liquid and clean the area with rubbing alcohol or hydrogen peroxide and remove the dead skin before applying a fresh bandage. Always be certain to use sterile equipment to pop and clean the blister. While popping the blister is not the ideal solution, it is generally impractical to stay off of one's feet for a good deal of time to wait for it to heal on its own.

Alternatively, you can focus on reducing the pain and inconvenience of the blister without actually immediately eliminating it. Wrap an ice pack in a towel or soak a washcloth in cold water; hold them against the blister for a few minutes to decrease swelling and relieve some of the discomfort.

One radical solution has been used by Boston Red Sox player Julian Tavarez with reportedly good results. A pitcher, he needs to take especially good care of his throwing hand which can develop blisters from time to time. In a practice not yet suggested by any medical professional, Tavarez pops the blister, cleans it with rubbing alcohol, and rubs the skin in a mixture of Red Bull energy drink and crushed Aspirin tablets. He claims to have used this method for several years with nothing but success.

Of course, if the blister is particularly painful or if you have a chronic blister problem, consult your doctor. She or he should be able to provide more personalized advice on how to deal with the problem as everyone has a unique personal health.  (+ info)
