Medical Dieting in the case of biliary dyskinesia or other disiases.?

Hi!
Wondered if there is some well-known popular medical recommendations what food may be eaten and what shouldn't if one suffers from the biliary dyskinesis.

In Russian medicine there are renowned medicine diets so called tables, they are numbered, for example, Diet №5 is designed specially for ones suffered from the stated disease. In that diet for instance spinach is prohibited. I just want to find resources in English of something similar but in a meantime failed to find.

Has anyone ever heard of a condition called "Biliary Dyskinesia", what exactly is it?

Thanks.
----------

Gall bladder is a storage sac for the bile ,the body fluid produced by liver. Bile contains bile salt. The collected bile is Delivered to the digestive system at duodenum through a system of ducts called biliary tree. Any derangement of filling and emptying mechanism of Gallbladder is called Biliary Dyskinesia. It cause enlarged gallbladder due to high pressure in the biliary tree. In turn the bile under pressure straight away join with blood instead going to duodenum.By this a kind of jaundice called obstructive jaundice is created.  (+ info)

Biliary Dyskinesia treatment?

Hi!
I have 20 years old and I have biliary dyskinesia. I want to get rid of this disease because it's very terrible. I don't want a diet because I don't like diets. What should I do ?
----------

Hi!
I am 41 years old and recently diagnosed with biliary dyskinesia. I am scheduled for surgery to have my gall bladder removed. Kind of scary. But, the alternative is to continue living with my symptoms. I have encountered so many people in the past three weeks who have had their gall bladder removed and they recovered completely. (The doc did talk about numbers and the percentage of people who still get symptoms.) These people also talked about the foods they still had to avoid after surgery, but that they have been able to begin eating some of their favorites again, just in moderation. That is better than nothing, to me. I don't have gall stones. I just have a gall bladder that does not empty when it should or at all. My worst pain happen when I eat greasy foods such as fast food, pizza and other greasy foods. Nobody needs these foods. My personal favorite is a bacon cheeseburger. After 2 1/2 years of trying to figure out why I get sick all the time, it is nice to finally have the right tests run, to finally have an answer and to finally have a solution to my problem. Good luck with your journey! Diana  (+ info)

What can you do for Galbladder biliary sludge pain?

I'm a 24 year old female in relatively good shape and health. I recently lost my insurance and was told by my doctor that I have Biliary sludge in my galbladder that causes these amazingly painful attacks. I can't afford to have my Galbladder removed right now. What should i eat or not eat? What can i take (vitamins etc...) to ward off these attacks or ease the pain until I can take care of this?
----------

You can eat BEETS, several times a day, about a tablespoon. Good to grate over a salad. OR, you can get to the health food store for something that has beets in it-the employees can help you. The product I deal with is called Beta-TCP but Biotics is not sold at most health food stores.

Your gall bladder bile is thick, there are many things to try before surgery, unless a Doctor is telling you it is necessary. You need to thin your bile.

It would help to avoid fats, especially trans fats, for a week or two. A nutritional therapist in your area can help you. Let me know your city and I can try to find someone.

Does your back hurt about mid-way? Do you get headaches between your eyes?

Massage, warmth, chiropractic and maybe foot reflexology...bottom of right foot, middle on right side-circular motion til you find a painful spot-then massage in circles, gently...then deeper. good luck. Best to find a Nutritional Therapist Practitioner.   (+ info)

Does anyone know of a case of someone taking Abilify and getting tardive dyskinesia?

It is the next Bipolar medication for me to try but I am terrified of getting tardive dyskinesia. I want to know the odds.
----------

Your doctor can tell you. I have been on a drug now for seventeen years and my doctor test me every six months and so far no problems. You do have warning signs before you get it....
Tardive Dyskinesia (TD) is an involuntary neurological movement disorder caused by the use of neuroleptic drugs that are prescribed to treat certain psychiatric or gastrointestinal conditions. Long-term use of these drugs may produce biochemical abnormalities in the area of the brain known as the striatum. The reasons that some people who take these drugs may get Tardive Dyskinesia, and some people do not, is unknown. Tardive Dystonia is believed to be the more severe form of Tardive Dyskinesia.  (+ info)

Can I get a handicap parking placard for Primary Biliary cirrhosis?

I have just been diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis as well as Sjogrens Syndrome. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to obtain a handicap parking placard in the state of California for these issues?
----------

Handicapped parking is for people that cannot walk very far and needs closer to the entrance or for someone in a wheelchair that needs the extra room for getting in and out of a vehicle.

I had primary biliary cirrhosis and never used handicapped parking until AFTER I received my transplant. There should not be any reason you need handicapped parking with PBC since it does not take away your ability to walk or even make you out of breathe.

I had to use handicapped parking for a few months after my transplant since it took me a long time to get back on my feet again. I don't know what Sjogrens Syndrome is so I don't know if that limits you in some way or not.

I guess the answer to your question is to ask yourself, "Can I walk to the store without a problem?" If the answer is yes, then you don't need handicapped parking even though I know you probably would like to have one of those placards just for the convenience of easy parking. Leave it for the people that really need it if you can.  (+ info)

Can longtime use of benzodiazepines cause tardive dyskinesia?

I have been prescribed alprazolam and usually take 2.5 to 3 mgs daily. I have noticed an involuntary contraction of my jaw. Could this be a side effect of daily use?
----------

Yes. Alprazolam (xanax) does list tardive dyskinesia as a side effect. This condition is only caused by presciption drugs and can be permanent. If you are experiencing these symptoms you need to slowly withdraw from this drug. Deficiencies in B vitamins have been shown to be a big part in causing depression and anxiety.
