Does anyone know how much it would cost to get surgery on an abdominal aortic aneurysm in a private hospital.?

My dad has been waiting 3 months already and I want to investigate what it would cost to have it done privately.
----------

You are taking about thousands of dollars for the surgery, and recovery to. The last bill I saw was for the surgery and 3 days in ICU, patient still in the hospital, already up to 95, 000 and that was not the total.  (+ info)

Does anyone know much about Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm?

I had surgury for diverticulitice about a year and a half ago, ever since then I have a bulge beside my belly button that feels kinda like a small balloon. I dont know if it's just scare tissue or a aneurysum of some sort. Can anyone help? It's about the size of a golf ball or alittle larger.
----------

It does sound like a hernia. Please go to your doctor and tell him what you are worried about and get some answers.  (+ info)

is it possible to have an abdominal aortic aneurysm at 20?

I've been have visible pulsating in my abdomen and I can feel my pulse if I rest my hand on top (and I'm not a thin person). The weird thing is it doesn't seem to be persistent. I noticed it a few months ago and then I guess it went away (or I just didn't notice) but then I felt it again today with some mild abdominal discomfort and back pain (on the right side).
----------

Anything is possible, really. You have enough weird symptoms at this stage to warrant a visit to the doctor. There's probably a less scary explanation for it though. I'm sure you'll be fine. Just get it checked out.  (+ info)

abdominal aortic aneurysm please help?

I'm 15 and my stomach feels bloated and I keep getting little sharp pains in my stomach. I can also feel it pulsate. I keep feeling this spasm like feeling right down the middle of my abdomen but it feels like it's on the inside. Does this sound like an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Please Help.
----------

I highly doubt it. Are you overweight? Do you have reason to believe you have an aneurysm? Thin young people can easily feel their abdominal aorta pulsate. It doesn't mean aneurysm though.   (+ info)

does anybody know what the symptoms are of an abdominal aortic aneurysm?

hi guys

i have suffered with anxiety and panic for 6 years now and over time it has proven to make me fearful of going to certain places such as busy shopping centres and doctors surgeries. Due to this fear of the docs i havent gone for a very long time and am scared that i may have something called an AAA (see above). Im no doctor and am a hypochondriac so i dont know whether i should be worried or put it down to my anxiety and hypochondria. I experience irregularities in my heartbeat and can feel a prominent heartbeat in my lower torso (directly below my ribs in the centre, like right by where the sternum is located) and a little below that. With this i also experience shortness of breath and can usually only manage short shallow breaths. For those of u who may have had or know someone who has had AAA, do these symptoms sound familiar to you? As i said i have had anxiety for years and so dont know what to think. These symtoms scare me but i am too scared of docs to go. Any advice?
just to add, over the last few years i have also noticed a ballooning of the stomach with this. if i may also ask, would prolonged anxiety cause, not directly but sort of like as of a knock on effect, heart diseases such as cardiomyopathy or any other heart problem? thanks
----------

The Sympotms of AAA are:

Most abdominal aortic aneurysms produce no symptoms (they are asymptomatic). They are often incidentally discovered when abdominal ultrasounds and/or CAT scan studies are ordered for other conditions. When they produce symptoms, the most common symptom is pain. The pain typically has a deep quality as if it is boring into the person. It is felt most prominently in the lower back region and lower abdomen. The pain is usually steady but may be relieved by changing position. The person may also become aware of an abnormally prominent abdominal pulsation.

I think that if you are too afraid to see a doctor have on ecome to you or call them or have a friend or relative call them.Good Luck!!  (+ info)

Has anyone ever had a abdominal aortic aneurysm? what are the symptoms, on the whole body?

usually just abdominal pain, sometimes you can feel a pulsatile mass in the abdomen (about where the navel is). if it gets larger you can sometime feel palpitations in the neck o even see them. This is not something to wait around for though. if you think you or somebody else has one they need to see a doctor immediately.  (+ info)

Aortic Abdominal Aneurysm?

okay...
so i have this "pulse" type feeling in my low abdomen, and its mostly on my right side. ive had it before, but today it has been really continuious. i feel it every few minutes.
I can SEE movement.
Is this appendicitis?
or aortic abdominal aneurysm?
pregnancy?

it doesnt hurt...it just feels really wierd
ITs not constant though.
Its only every few minutes and its quite strong
----------

You are pretty young for AAA, plus you'd likely feel that in the middle of the torso rather than off to one side since that is where the abdominal aorta runs. Unless you are quite visibly pregnant, your veins would probably not pulse as you describe.

You may just have a vein that is close to the surface or has been irritated in some way ( a bruise, a recent workout, etc.). If it bothers you, see your health care provider for an ultrasound to rule out any other possibilities.

Good luck.  (+ info)
