I recently had an X-ray done on my chest as I had a lung infection. The X-ray confirmed the lung infection and I was given antibiotics. Other than that the radiologist and attending said everything was fine. When I saw my own doctor the next day to get antibiotics, I noticed on the X-ray results she was reading said there was some evidence of aortic unfolding possibly due to how I stood when the X-ray was taken. There was no enlargement of the heart, my blood pressure is normally around 110/67 and I'm going for a cholesterol test tomorrow.
I'm very concerned about the aortic unfolding and my doctor just dismissed it without explaining what it is. I'm a male, 39, I have had high cholesterol but am not on treatment for it, I'm a smoker and I am overweight and lead a relatively sedentary lifestyle.
